In October 2023, we welcomed a new team member into the Invosys mix.
Rob Burrell’s career in sales started after college, working across retail and commercial sales teams, before deciding to get into IT.
Whilst getting his IT diploma, Rob landed himself a placement with an IT company. From there, he went from strength to strength, working as the sales manager for an impressive range of start-ups, small-to-medium-sized enterprises and global businesses — including his last role as sales director for Axon IT, a Microsoft Cloud provider.
After a remarkable 25 years in IT and technology, building and running sales teams and managing budgets, Rob decided it was time to move onto a new venture…
Welcoming Rob to the world of telco
With a good amount of unified communications knowledge under his belt from his previous roles, Rob was looking to move on to a bigger company with plans for expansion and the opportunity to build and grow a good-sized team.
Of course, Invosys is that very company, and we’re thrilled to have Rob on board as our sales director!
He may have only been with us a short time, but Rob has already made himself at home.
With big plans of shaping and building our fantastic sales team, Rob told us that his main priorities will include designing Invosys’ go-to-market strategy. Basically, he wants to make sure we’re on the ball — gaining new customers, acquiring new partners and shouting about our larger unified communications solutions.
Our close relationship with Avaya piqued Rob’s interest when he joined the team — and he’s looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Avaya IP Office and our partnership.
What’s Rob’s favourite part of the job so far? Aside from the opportunity to bring in new sales talent, he remarked it’s the people that set Invosys apart. Thanks, Rob — back at you! It’s fair to say that, thanks to our extensive experience in the industry, our team at Invosys is great at keeping its finger on the pulse, continually adapting to market changes and offering solutions that are one step ahead of the curve.
That’s the kind of knowledge Rob reckons any sales members wanting to join the telco industry should have…
‘I think learning the ins and outs of telco products is key, especially for anyone moving into solution selling. But most importantly, networking and building strong relationships with customers and channel partners is the best way to grow your business. You want to be a credible and trusted source for potential and current clients’.
A new future with Invosys
Rob’s shining track record of building sales teams and moving businesses up the stack speaks for itself — and his skill set and experience in go-to-market strategy have been invaluable for a smooth transition during our acquisition with Dura Software.
As many of you know, Invosys recently announced that it’s been acquired by Dura Software, a US-based company in San Antonio, Texas. This is an exciting new chapter for the Invosys team and our customers, and we’re confident that our new ownership will help us become a stronger company that can better serve our customers’ needs and increase our focus and investment in Invosys’ stellar products and services.
Throughout the hiring process, we knew that our new sales director’s vision and experience needed to be aligned with the next step in the Invosys journey — and we’re chuffed to have Rob on board. We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for Invosys…
You can find Rob on LinkedIn. If you want to talk to him about our products, drop him a message.
