Invosys Round Off Adrenaline-Packed Year for PDSA Charity
February 6, 2018

Leading communications technology company Invosys are set to hand over a generous donation to the pet charity PDSA, after an eventful year spent raising funds.

The Manchester-based firm have generated a fantastic

for the cause, which they chose as their company charity for 2017, and employees have been taking part in many different activities to raise vital funds.

PDSA are the UK’s leading pet wellbeing charity, treating the pets of people in need. Every year, the dedicated teams at their 48 Pet Hospitals work tirelessly to provide 2.7 million veterinary treatments– including 440,000 preventative treatments. This helps over 470,000 much-loved pets by educating owners, preventing disease and carrying out life-saving operations.

Invosys chose to support PDSA after many members of staff recently took on their own pets, and realised the joy and companionship four-legged friends bring to people’s lives.

The team committed to raise money for the charity by taking on a number of challenges throughout the year, pushing staff to their physical and mental limits. Many hours were spent in gyms, pools and open water as staff undertook events including Ironman UK, The London Marathon, The Berlin Marathon and The Great Manchester 10K run.

Dan Fish, Chief People Officer for Invosys has been co-ordinating the charity efforts. He said:

Dan Fish, Invosys CPO

“It’s a key part of our ethos at Invosys to give something back to the wider community and so we pledge to support a charity each year, with staff dedicating their own time to raise funds. PDSA seemed really fitting for 2017, with many of the team being such big animal lovers.

Over the past year, several of us have given homes to puppies and we have all noticed the hugely positive effect that being a pet owner can have on your life. They become part of the family, give unconditional love and are often a person’s only companion.

The PDSA is a fantastic charity which helps people and pets stay together, even when they are facing financial difficulties.”

Rosie Gibbons, Fundraiser at PDSA, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to the whole team at Invosys who have put in so much time and effort to raising vital funds for PDSA. Their contribution will help us to continue our fantastic service, treating thousands of sick and injured pets in need across the UK.

We are enormously grateful to everyone who took part at Invosys and showed their support, and we hope they enjoyed their challenges at the same time!”
